Do mommies get naps too? If so, at what time?? A lot of people will tell you "Nap when the kids nap." Its not always so easy to do. When the kids nap, its my time alone. Me time!!!! Do I really want to spend it sleeping?? Sometimes, yes, I do want to spend it sleeping.. Ok, no most of the time I DO want to spend my alone time sleeping, but dont.. Today may be a different story though.
So I am now 30 weeks and some days along. Wow, 30 weeks. That means I have roughly 10 weeks to go. I read all these posts on my boards about how other moms feel like they are not prepared, then they go on to list all the items they still need to get. In general, I feel prepared.. Materialistically speaking. We have plenty of clothes and sure we will get more from family/friends before or after he is born. Ill probably get a box (or two) of diapers next pay day. We have bath supplies, blankets (which will be getting more from my mom). I plan to breast feed, so no need for bottles, formula, etc. He will be sleeping in the pack and play next to the bed or in bed with us for a while. So no need for a crib, however we do have that ready (or will shortly). So, all in all, I feel materialistically prepared.... Mentally, different story.. I had no problem having Ellie.. I had no problem having Garrett and adding him into our daily lives.. I totally feel unready to have another baby to toss into the mix of craziness that goes on here all day long.. How will Ellie treat the baby?? What about Garrett??? What if this baby demands more attention then either of the other two ever did?? There are so many mental questions that I ask my self all the time..
On other news, I had been informed that the crib we used for Ellie had been recalled. It was a 4 in 1 crib and I had planned to convert it to the toddler bed for Garrett and use G's crib for the baby. So after a couple of trips to Walmart, we got it figured out and they told me if I bring it in I would get $199 for it. yeey!! So I have decided to use that money towards a twin bed for Garrett.. I didnt want to buy a toddler bed and then down the road have to buy a twin anyways. I found this really nice twin bed at Big lots. Good price and even has storage drawers under it.
Of course we will get the safety rail to put in it to keep him from falling off.. I am not 100% ready to put him in the twin bed yet, but we will get it, set it up in his room and slowly start transitioning him to it. (Nap times, etc) Maybe by the time I am ready to put Blaine in his crib, Garrett will be fully transitioned to the twin bed.
Last night while sitting on the couch, Ellie was sitting right next to me. She reached over and started to rub my belly. It was to darn cute. Then today while we were at the grocery store, picking up a couple of things, I had a small pain in my belly. I was rubbing it and said Ouch. Ellie asked me what was wrong and I told her my belly hurt. She jumped off the end of the shopping cart and comes around to me. She rubs my belly where I was rubbing it and then kissed it. It made me tear up and want to cry right there in the store.. She can be so sweet sometimes.. lol
Tomorrow we have a VERY early and LOOONG day ahead of us. We have to be in Prescott by 10 am for their check ups. Garrett's 18 mo check up and shots (booo) and Ellie's 3 yr check up (and hopefully no shots!!) I cant wait to see how much they both weigh and their heights. Is Garrett going to be tall for his age like Ellie always was? Is Ellie still tall for her age and what about weight? The Pedi better not say she is over weight. (Going off other people's experience with the Pedi and their children) After the appointments we are headed to Safford to my parents house for a week. Its a 6-8 hour drive and with 2 toddlers, that can be a VERY VERY long drive. Hopefully after the appointments, they both sleep most of the drive down. (Please cross your fingers for me!!) Garrett is the one I always have to worry about being a monster in the car. He screams the whole time.. Yeey.. :(
Alright, think Ill take this moment to go nap. Ya know, since the kids have both been asleep for nearly an hour and will be waking up shortly..... Thats what I always do, wait till its almost time for them to wake up to actually decide to nap.. My fault..
Have a great week everyone!! Good luck for anyone who is starting school soon too!!
