Show & Tell Link Up- Wedding Bells Ringing

Im linking up with From Mrs. to Mama for a fun Show & Tell. Here's this Monday's questions.

1. Are you married? If so when did you get married, and tell us about your special day. If not? How would you describe your dream wedding?
I am married. We got married May 22nd, 2009. The day didnt go as planned because it rained and it was an outdoor wedding with no back up plan. It was cold. The ceremony went fast but pictures took a long time. People left before I could see them. Secretly I want to have a do over, someday (with a wedding planner!). :)

2. Show us some wedding pictures. Either yours or of some that you love.

3. How about the engagement? Tell us your story. If not engaged, what's your dream proposal?
Well, the original engagement happened like this. It was our 6 yr dating anniv (I think) and we went for a drive out by one of the lakes where we lived. We stopped on the side of the road and went for a hike on a dirt road.  There was a frozen stream that we followed and found a small frozen water fall, under the ice the water was still running. Logan was standing behind me with his arms around me. He started to mess around with my promise ring which sent up a flag (***) He took the ring off and put on a new one and asked if I would marry him. I said of course.

4. Show us your wedding rings or an engagement photo! If not engaged/married ... show us your "dream" ring.

5. Tell us why you think marriage doesn't work out for so many? What can we do to make things last

I think people dont want to work at it anymore. When things start getting hard, they cant stick it out. Plus there are so many home wreckers out there that are just looking to cause problems. :) Communication is key, you have to talk through your problems. Anyone who said marriage was easy, well they were lucky. lol Truthfully, its always a work in progress. Both people involved have to work together to make it last.

*** I said it sent up a flag because the day Logan gave me the promise ring, he was playing around with a ring I wear on my thumb. I used to wear it on "that finger" before on the thumb, but I got tired of random people asking me if I was married or engaged. So I had started wearing that ring on my thumb. Logan was playing with it and asking why I didnt wear it on the other finger anymore. He then pulled out the promise ring and put it on "that finger".

Well check back next Monday for the next Show & Tell. :)

Just a Quickie

Not that kind of quickie, you perv! :) Just a little update because I feel like rambling. I still have to finish and post Blaine's 10 month update. Yeah, Im slacking. Before I know it he will be 11 months.

Well some of you might remember a few posts ago I had started a weight loss blog. Well at that time I was VERY unmotivated. So I only made one post and then stopped. Well I ended up deleting that blog. I think Im going to go back to Weigh loss Wednesdays. But today Ill go a head and fill you in on how things have been lately. I had started following a blog (Mama Laughlin) and reading her story, her journey from being over weight, to skinny, child birth and now on the road to weigh loss again. She is very funny and doesnt hold back on the language <3 Well she and a couple of her friends created a support group on facebook for anyone looking to lose weight. I of  course joined. I had tried to do the 30 Day Shred again and couldnt make it passed day 2. WTH? Well through this awesome group of ladies, I have learned that the 30 Day Shred was not actually made and intended to be done in 30 consecutive days. You should take breaks in between each day. I may try to do it again! Currently though I am working on the Couch to 5k. I have never been a runner and actually usually hate it. But Im enjoy doing the C25K so far. There is a marathon in Prescott in a couple of months that I've thought about doing, but there is on in January in PHX that I REALLY want to do. That one is called the "Color Run" and looks so fun. That could be my birthday present to my self. Think thats a great idea. Wonder if I could get anyone else to do it with me. Hmmmmm. So far, Ive only lost 2 lbs and this is week 4. I need to really get committed and my head in the game. Im trying to eat better but some days are hard. Oh and Ive also put the boy into day care so I can go to the gym while Logan is working and Ellie's in school.

Oh and on Monday's Im going to do a post with pictures of the week. Obviously from the week before.

Well guess that's pretty much all for now. :) Hope to get back in the blogging swing of things.

First Day of Pre-k!

August 6th was Ellie's first day of Pre-k. She is in the afternoon class. That was the weekend we went camping, Monday morning Mommy & Ellie hauled booty back home so we could shower and get all ready to go.
All geared up and ready to go!
The walk to class. I love the picture of her walking with Daddy.

She ran right inside and found her BFF. She was so excited and thankfully wasnt one of the kids crying in the doorway. She hardly blinked an eye when we left.

I cannot believe my little baby girl, who was only 5 lbs 8 oz is now a big pre schooler! Awwww!

Camp Day

We decided spur of the moment to go camping the first weekend in August. It was very spur of the moment. But we had a good time, despite forgetting a few needed things. The kids had fun and we went for a very long Ranger ride. The bugs were a lot worse this time then they were in May when we went. I even got bit by meat bees/yellow jackets. Ouch!!

Ellie was quite the poser this weekend. Always striking a pose and giving me that big smile. I love it! Poor Blaine was confined to the tent or car seat most of the time because he wanted to eat the dirt and pine needles. I forgot the walker for him.

Daddy found his self a walking stick and the kids wanted some too. They played with those a lot over the weekend. Daddy was also trying to make a sand castle using dirt and water, didnt quite work out. I also tried to get a picture of Ellie & Garrett sitting together being good. Hellz no! Garrett wouldnt have any of that crap!
Playing in dirt, eating lunch, playing in dirt... Waiting for Daddy to cut down a tree or two... Climbing rock! Look at US!

Camping is a lot of fun and Im glad we live somewhere we can go so easily. Just wish we had a place to swim, then it would be perfect. Hopefully next time we go some friends are able to join us.

Utah trip

We went to Utah in Mid-July and I have tried to type the post for that trip and just havent been able to finish it. So these next few posts are just basically going to be photo explosions :) Enjoy!

Cousins getting their nails painted. Boys playing in the tractor. Family hanging out. Kids playing on stairs. TROUBLE!
The 4 of them. Silly 4 yr olds! Nap time! Beauty! Zzzzzz! Big Bear Lake.. Game time?
Boat ride. Lake. Checking out the water. Blaine chill'n. Playing in the water. Weee!
Garrett hated wearing the life jacket. Our family on the tube, kids loved it!

We had a great time in Utah. It was great to get to see Logan's brother and his family. I had never been to Utah before and it is beautiful! I loved that the kids got to spend a week with cousins they havent met (Sept Ellie met Addison at our wedding in 09. Ellie was not even a year old yet) I wish we lived that close to such a beautiful late. We talked about buying a lake house/cabin. Its always fun to drive around looking at houses for sale and day dreaming about what our lives could be like. Laughing and saying things like "Its only 12 hours from Bagdad. Very do able for family to visit." Someday maybe!
