100 Ways

  So in the past month or two I have seen several pins on Pinterest for 50-100 Ways to make your marriage better or making your husband happy. I have to roll my eyes at half the list. So I thought, hell Ill blog about it. My comments will be in bold.


1. Write him letters What are we in High School?
2.Go on regular date nights Impossible with 3 kids and living in BFE
3. Write his name on lipstick on the bathroom mirror He would probably bitch because its a mess and would expect me to clean it up
4. Revitalize the romance with intimate dates Like getting a hotel room after Prom? Again, how can we have intimate dates when we cant even have regular date nights?
5. Pray together We arnt very religous
6 Hide notes in secret places What would they say? If its a secret place, would he ever find them?
7 Go to bed at the same time We usually do this, sept for a few nights. But even then I usually have a little milk leach attached to me. 
8 Listen to music together-share earbuds Yeah, he would so never do this. He would think its pointless. Not to say we dont listen to music together, just not with the same headphones
9 Send him on a scavenger hunt in the house Again, unless it led to a naked me, he wouldnt do this
10 Buy him gifts he will love He is very hard to buy for and it makes me sad 
11 Hide a treat in his glovebox or desk at work I could do this, leave something in his truck. Maybe Ill try.
12 Read the Bible together See #5
13 Wear shirts that tell the world you love your spouse He would think this is silly too and he probably wouldnt wear one about me. 
14 Praise your spouse to other people I do sometimes
15 Let them overhear you I have
16 Read a marriage devotional Ill have to google this
17 Porn-proof your home As far as I know it is
18 Be best friends We kinda are
19 Sleep in his t-shirts That irritates him. Its not as cute when I wear his shirts as it is when the gf/wife does it on T.V.
20 Look to him to make the big decisions I usually do. Specially when it deals with big money. He makes it, if he really wants to spend a big amount a certain way, well thats up to him. (Like buying a Kirby vacuum) 
21 Let her make the small ones Happens sometimes
22 Don’t nag him I dont think I do this to much
23 Put down the seat, pick up your socks for her He is really good about this stuff
24 Renew your vows privately with whispers and memories We didnt write our own vows. 
25 Renew them publicly with cake and bubbly See #24
26 Fight naked Maybe after I lose 65 lbs
27 Tell him you like him That sounds silly. Why would I tell him I like him? I like you, logan.. Just sounds weird. 
28 Receive his compliments I would if there were ever any sent my way
29 Pick your battles I probably dont do this well
30 Show her you love her and tell him you respect him I dont feel like he shows me he loves me and I have never told him I respect him. I would think that would be a given.
31 Go away together at least once a year We have so far. It is very nice and refreshing to get away
32 Frame your wedding vows See #24 & 25
33 Her: Read For Women Only Ill have to look that up
34 Hang pictures of the two of you around your house There are some up
35 Kiss in front of your kids If we do, its just a peck
36 Make his favorite dessert Not sure what it is
37 Have pictures of just the two of you made We havent done this in a while
38 Make sex a priority Boy, he would like this one. Defiantly lacking in this department. 
39 Spend time apart occasionally We have done this too
40 Learn to enjoy something he loves We both like the outdoors but I cant see myself loving to work/tinker on shit
41 Surprise each other Surprise! 
42 Meet him at the door I am usually dealing with a kid to two and cant do that. 
43 Dreamstorm Google? 
44 Text each other from across the room About what? Unless it has to do with sex, he wouldnt text back
45 Be accountable to each other Think we kinda are
46 Set reminders on your phone to remember him/her throughout the week Great idea. I remember him.. and the things I wish he would do. 
47 Call him right now and tell him you appreciate him  Maybe Ill send it in an email on Monday
48 Be affectionate Also lacking in this department on both of our accounts
49 Him: Read For Men Only He doesnt read books
50 Leave work and come home early No can do
51 Wash, vacuum her car. Keep it full of gas. Yeah the only time he does this is after he bitches about it being a mess. 
52 Give each other romantic coupons But then they have to be used at some point
53 Engage every day in meaningful conversation I need examples
54 Compliment each other I try to but never get anything from him
55 Touch your spouse several times throughout the day He might think Im trying to engage in sexual activites and the only times he touches me is when he is trying to engage in sexual activites.. Annoying. 
56 Take one day a month to make your spouse your total focus Wouldnt this fall under the date nights?
57 Let each other sleep in Then who would take care of the kids?
58 Be spontaneous! Yeah, thats something we arnt
59 Argue fair: avoid these words “you always” and “you never” we dont argue to much
60 Kiss every day Do little pecks here and there count?
61 Find tangible ways to serve your mate without complaining Ill have to google tangible.. how sad is that?
62 Forgive quickly I dwell on things
63 Be honest. Something I have a hard time with
64 But not hurtful Im not usually, I dont think
65 Get on the same page: plan your budget together we do ok on our budget
66 Look your best as often as you can I try to do this but fall short usually
67 Guard your marriage I try
68 Get out of debt (and stay out) We arnt in any bad debt. Just the car loans and a mortgage loan
69 Laugh together happens sometimes
70 Have a date night in Thats like a combination of a date night and an intimate night? 
71 When your together-BE TOGETHER (take a break from phones, technology, etc) We sometimes do this, but the phones still have to come along. 
Talk about your favorite memories together We do, though he usually doesnt listen to me and I do listen to him
Tell him he’s sexy just because I hate that word
Tell her she’s pretty, especially when she’s not feeling it Can you tell him this?
Make him breakfast in bed So not happening
Do her chores for her It makes me feel shitty when he does my work
Get a couple’s massage or host your own privately This would be fun.. Like a professional one
Read a book out loud together Yeah he would be bored
Dance together-soft music (alone) or rocking music with the kids So not something he would do
Bring her/him a favorite drink during the middle of the day Ive handed him a beer sometimes
Exercise together-hikes, bike riding, etc we go for walks together sometimes
Choose not to be annoyed by an irritating behavior/disappointment Its hard!
Tell him a secret he doesn’t know about you If he doesnt know yet, then there is probably a good reason for it
Thank your spouse just because, often i should do this as should he
Sit on the same side of a booth at a restaurant we do if its just us, no kids
Lay in bed together and stare into each other eyes, without talking yeah then that leads to sexual activities. 
Learn something new together-take an art class, cooking lessons, etc that would be fun but there is nothing to do in out BFE town
Leave a sweet comment on the Facebook wall I soooo wish he would do this. I envy those couples who do this
Teach your kids about marriage Try to
Stop what you’re doing, look them in the eye and listen to their answer I usually try to pay attention when he is talking to me.. course its not the same when Im talking. He usually doesnt notice. 
Create art together Do our children count? 
Support each other’s goals That would be nice
Know when to talk and when to hush I  just stick to being quiet most of the time. seems like when I open my mouth its something stupid that falls out
Consider counseling (even if there’s not conflict) This probably wouldnt be a bad idea
Doodle his name I do
Bring her flowers (even when she says they are too expensive) Its been a long while since I got flowers
Wear something he loves I hate all my clothes so I cant imagine I have something he loves
Share furniture-sit in his lap I dont want to break his legs
Fight for your marriage I think I do but probably not hard enough
Remember your spouse rocks-even when they don’t He needs to remember this




Wow, so that was my thoughts on 100 ways to make your marriage rock. Boy Im such a downer :(

5 Months Old

5 months old
Blaine is 5 month old! WHAT?! Already? My baby is almost half a year old. This is so not fair. Why does it have to go so fast? I've even tried to hold on to and will Blaine to be a baby longer. He might be getting big but he is still my baby.

Eating habits- We are still breast feeding. Some days I worry that I am not producing enough and that is why it seems that you nurse a lot during the days. You are either a snacker or a comfort nurser. You have had a bottle of formula here and there and take them well. We havent started solids yet, however I have bought a box of rice cereal. I think we will still wait until you can sit by your self.

Accomplishments- Blaine first rolled over belly to back Feb. 20th. It was pretty funny. I had laid him down on his belly and walked away. When I came back, I saw you on your back and had to take a double look and pick my brain to see if I actually laid you on your back. Mommy had bad memory problems. :) So I rolled you back onto your tummy and you rolled over again. You did it 3 times for me! I was very happy! My little guy made it to another milestone!

You love to pull your feet up and chew on them. Its so funny! You are also starting to "talk" to us more as well as blowing bubbles and raspberries. I love it!


My Dearest Little Blaine,

There will come a day when you will get mad when I call you my baby, but unfortunately son, you will always be my baby and I will remind you of it every day! I will try not to be the embarrassing mom when your friends are around, but when you are alone, you will be free game to all my hugs and kisses! So be prepared. Im glad I have at least 10-12 years till you start complaining! :)
