Thursday Thoughts
Just a few random things Ive been thinking about.
**Why is it so easy to lose pacifiers? Even those with the clippies on them. Seriously, last night I had to get the one out of the diaper bag for Blaine because I couldnt find the one he did have. Then I found it, I think in my bathroom but didnt pick it up. Now today, at nap time, I cant find either one. Luckly, I still had a 0-3 mo paci that he really doesnt like but sounds like he took it.
**Am I a bad mom for enforcing nap time? Ellie & Garrett rarely take naps anymore. It really is hit and miss if they do. Im thinking though that the lack of a nap is why they fight so bad in the evening time. So the other day I told Ellie to lay down in her bed, play her game (a tablet of mine that is seriously screwed up) and just rest. It worked. Garrett of course didnt fall asleep til 3 and slept til like 5:30. Today, after I picked Ellie up from school and we got home, lunch was served and ate. I think announced that it was nap time. Of course, Ellie through a big fit, told me she wasnt tired and didnt want to lay down. I scooped her up and layed her down on her bed, got the tablet and explained that she just needs to rest, play the game and stay in bed. Not even 15 minutes later, she was crashed out! I put Garrett into his bed and it sounds like he isnt asleep yet but he is staying in his room.
**I thought about taking pictures on a certain day of the week to show how I am dressed. However, Im not ready for that yet. I dont take self pictures very well and truthfully, I wear almost the same thing every day, fix my hair and make up about the same way every day. So, once I start losing weight, getting new clothes, bluh, bluh bluh, Ill start taking pictures.
**So much for G being a sleep. Two out of three isnt to bad right? He will probably crash out in a couple of hours, when the other two wake up......
**I've lost my motivations to keep my house clean or do anything. I did so good the first two weeks we were here in our new house, now, not so much. Its just so hard when Little Man follows behind me to unload cabinets and drawers. In fact, today after picking Ellie up, we wernt home 5 minutes before he was unloading the Tupperware lids.
**Since I decided not to move my blog, I need to pick what days to post and maybe actually stick to a few topics. I dont know. We shall see.
Guess thats all I can think of right now.
Thanksgiving and Giving Thanks
This years Thanksgiving festivities went off without a hitch. The only complaint? No pictures :( T-day was spent with the in-laws. Logan's sister and her family came up and we all went to his parents house. His uncle and finance & her kids came too. All the kids had a great time playing together. For dinner this year, we had a regular roasted turkey, a fried turkey and a smoked turkey breast. OMG! The smoked breast is the best, soooo juicy! By far my favorite way to cook the turkey. Fried has that fried taste and I dont really care for it much and roasted, while good is usually dry. I decided before dinner that I wasnt going to fight with the kids and stress about whether they eat or not. I wanted to actually enjoy dinner this year. (Last year, I dont even remember what the fried turkey tasted like cause I was to busy stressing to actually taste it) The kids did eat some turkey and Nana S's ever famous "Green Salad" (Like a Watergate salad). That night my SIL "C" and I decided to go to Walmart for the Black Friday fun stuff. I stood in line for 3 hours for a 40 in TV. I also got some books and stuff for the kids.
Friday morning, Logan, the kids & I left to go to my parents house, where my sister & her family and my brother & his wife were already at. I had stressed about how chaotic it was going to be. My parents live in a single wide trailer with an add on room, there were going to be 8 adults, 5 children and 4 hairy dogs running a muck. All in all it went pretty well. The kids went to bed without fights, they ate when they wanted to eat and I drank when I wanted to drink. :) At my parents house we had the traditional roasted turkey, smoked turkey and a smoked pork rump roast. OMG! The pork was delish and sooo juicy. However, the bark of both the turkey and the pork was burnt. The bark is where all the seasonings and flavor are and we just coudnt eat it. I was bummed, but the meat was still very good.
One down fall to the Holidays? I over over over ate at both places and gained weight like it was the new skinny! lol But I am ever so thankful that I am blessed to get to spend the Holidays with my family and that I have in-laws that are good and I get along with. There are so many people out there who have problems with either their own families or their in-laws or both and they dont get to spend Holidays together.
Back to the weight gain topic real fast....We finally picked up the Elliptical Logan's boss was going to sale to us. He gave it to us for free, long as we dont try to sale it in the future. If we dont want it anymore, he just wants it back. So, yeeey! Only down fall is that we need to buy a new belt. A $39.99 belt and right now (even though I just spent $90 at Walmart) we dont have the money to buy the belt. Booo! The next few months are going to be Tight!
On the topic of money..... December is the first month we have to make our new mortgage payments. That's why it will be tight. I hate money!! Booo! But we will make it. :)
Family Binder Pt 2
I have spent a couple days off an on printing out pages for my Binder and writing in them. Here is what I have so far.
First is our menu. I printed two weeks for our menu. I got grocery shopping for 2 weeks at a time.
Next is the Bills. I really need this section because twice in the last couple of months I have paid 2 different bills twice!
I printed two blank calendars so that was I can always have 2 months on hand. I can flip forward to December and see if we have anything going on. I can add in B-days, Vacay, etc. Right now I only have school days, Logan's days off, Holidays and birthdays.
I printed off one of these pages for each day of the week. I filled them all out and realized that most every day I do the same thing. So I printed one for Every Day stuff. Ill go back and write in the stuff I do every day (get up at 5, work out, etc) Then all the extra stuff I schedule to do will go on the said days. Like Tuesday & Thursdays are the days Ellie goes to school, so Ill write on those days Wake Ellie up, bus by 7, etc. Ill also include what laundry is done what day, what room Ill clean on what day.

Today at Ellie's school, they provided a Thanksgiving Feast. It was very nice. They asked that the parents bring a salad or desert. I had wanted to make chocolate dipped apple slices, well those were a flop. So then I decided to make Hershey Kiss Pretzel Drops . Logan picked up all the ingredients for me and I began last night. Well, I burned the first batch. :( It so wasnt my night for baking. So this morning, after I dropped Ellie off at the bus stop, I came home and got started on them again. This time, I was able to get them made. I used Hurshey Hugs and they were so good. I also made some extra for T-day @ the inlaws. I used Mint kisses and Cherry filled Kisses. They are both yummy!
Anyways, back to the school feast. I was really hoping that I would meet some of the parent's of the kids in Ellie's class. Well no such luck. :( I dont even know which kids are in her class) I was really bummed that not a single person (outside of the teacher and principle) said a word to me. But the event went well anyways. I got both Ellie & Garrett to eat turkey! That is a big thing! I told Ellie that she eats turkey on her sandwiches so she should try this turkey too. She really liked it. Garrett would only eat the taters if I fed them to him, of course. Blaine on the other hand, chowed on everything! He loves food. Once they were done eating, we came home.
It was super nice of the school to supply such a nice lunch for not only the students but the parents/siblings as well! Thank you K-land school! :)

Our Turkey Day plans this year are to go to his parents house on Thanksgiving day. His sister and her family are going to be there. It will be fun. Then Friday sometime we are going to drive to my parents house. It's a 7+ hour drive. The kids usually do pretty good, here's hoping this time wont be different! We will have Turkey Day on Saturday with my family. My parents, sister & her family, brother & his wife and possibly my Grandmother. It's always an over packed, way hot, cluster frack of a weekend, but I wouldnt miss it for anything (unless, you know, I had no choice) We will be coming home on Sunday. Logan has things he wants to do on his days off and Ellie has school on Tuesday.
I hope that everyone has a great Holiday and stays safe!
Family Binder Pt 1
I totally love the idea of a family binder. They help keep the family in line and hopefully Mommy on track with every day biz-nus!
Here's what I am using for my Family Binder:
**A plain black 11.5x8 binder. It's the cheapest one Walmart carries.
**A pack of page protectors (I got a big pack because I am not sure how many Ill need)
**A pack of wet erase markers. (It came with 2 black, 1 red, 1 blue, 1 green) ((You can use a different color for each person in the family or for different events)
**A pack of post-it sticky tabs. (I havent used them yet, but once I get my book better put together, I could use the tags for each area of the binder "Calendar", "Menu", "Bills" and just flip to that page)
So, yesterday evening I sat down with my daughter's Tinkerbell note book and started making up schedules and writing down what kind of daily chores need to be done. I've been trying for days to type up these lists and just cant get anywhere with them. I am finding it so much easier to write it on paper first and then Ill type it up.
If you are interested in making a Family Binder, here are some great sites to check out. Often times you can even find free printable templates! There are many more Family Binders to check out, just google them. :)

Confusion!
So, I decided not to start a new blog but to just use this one and change the name. Less confusing, I keep my current followers and I dont lose all my old posts. :) So here's to a new beginning.
The Real House Wife of Wilhoit
The Beginning
The beginning of our new life. If you haven't checked out my About Me page at the top, please do to get a little better acquainted with who I am. :) Here is a list of things Ill be posting about a long the way. There will be other things too but here are a few big topics!
1. Family Binder- I want to keep a binder with daily to-dos, menu, budgeting, and just things to keep me more organized in my cluttered like!
2. Speaking of cluttered life, keeping house better is big on my list! I want to always have a clean house! Im tired of seeing toys all over and stuff every where. Everything needs a place to be! I need a cleaning schedule!
3. Be a better parent! Think before I go things (like spanking) Stop being the "in a minute" mom and be more involved with them.
4. Potty train Garrett! Night potty train Ellie
5. Work on disciplining the kids better. Time to read up on time outs and rewards
6. Chore charts for the kids and a reward system!
7. Be a better wife. I have been working on this and feel I have been doing better.
8. Work on bettering my self. Hopefully we will be getting that elliptical soon! and set time out for me to do my stuff (craft projects!)
9. Love life better!
10. Keep up on my blog :) Today, I am working on cleaning the house. Start with a clean slate! Its hard beause I am so scatterbrain and unfocused. I start working on an area, get distracted by something and bam, I wind up in a different area of the house, working on something completely unrelated to what I was already working on. So, while the kids are really into watching Toy Story 2, I need to get up and get a move on things!!
