Logan's Bathroom

(Let me start by describing our bathrooms layout. The first side has a toilet, sink, mirror and the bathroom closet. This side is mine, the kids & guests bathroom. In the middle is the bath tub/shower, then behind the next door is another toilet, sink, mirror, counter top. This side is off the master bedroom and is Logan's side of the bathroom. )

So Ive been working on plans for Logan's bathroom. I've figured most of it out and hopefully will get supplied on the 29th when I go into town for my 24 week OB appointment and Garrett's 18 mo appointment.

I created a picture of stuff that I've compiled together, kinda like that new website Pintrest

Alright, for those who do not know, Logan is a diesel mechanic in the copper mine here.   He works on huge trucks and equipment. He has voiced to me in the past that he would like his bathroom done in the Caterpillar equipment theme. However, I cannot find anything premade, so will have to get creative and do it all on my own. Here's what I've come up with.

In the middle of the picture are the colors  I've thinking of using. Painting the lower half of the bathroom the yellow (Marigold in Behr for those who are interested) Then taking off a band around the top of the yellow a few inches and paint that the black (Which is Black Suede).

At the top right is some square shelves that would be placed above the toilet.  Im not sure if I like these or if I would rather use just a piece of wood painted in black with silver brackets. However, if I was to use the square ones, I could put inside toy replicas of some of the equipment he works on. Like the big haul truck in the left corner and the little dozer in the middle right. I could also buy some cheep tools (if I can find some cheap tools) to place on the tops or inside of the shelves.

I can find a few Cat or Caterpillar sticker/decals on the web in different sizes, I may get one to put over the top of the bathroom door. HAHAHAHA I just got an idea, I could get a custom sticker made that says "Dumping Zone" and put it above  the shelves, above the toilet or maybe just above a door. That would be funny.

I may also try to find a calender to go in there
Wow, there is just so much I can do. Amazon has loads of books about the equipment, I could buy a couple to put in there. Men like to have things to look at while in the "Dumping Zone". Also there is a floor mat that would be cool in front of the sink.
There is just so much I could do down the line, but for now I am going to stick with the painting, shelves, toys & tools.

Is it weird that I am excited about doing Logan's bathroom first? I wish I could have it done today for his Father's day surprise but its not going to happen. I however am not going to mention any of it to him and that way he will be super surprised when he comes home from work to see it. (Next weekend maybe?) Of course, there will be before pictures, during pictures and finishing pictures.

\Oh another idea.. Maybe I could get him to get pictures of himself standing by some of the equipment and then have them printed out and put those up in the bathroom too.

Here is a picture of a haul truck with a regular vehicle next to it. You can see just how big the equipment he works on are.

Ok, I think you got the idea of what Im wanting to do in his bathroom. I really hope I get to do this. I hate how unpersonalized our house is. Its time to make this house a home..

Thinking After Baby

I find my self already thinking about what I want done after baby Blaine is born. My biggest want... is to lose the weight... So far Im doing really great at not gaining a lot of extra weight but with roughly 17 weeks left, that is plenty of room to gain way to much weight.. (I first typed money instead of weight. Must be because everything cost way to much money lol) However much weight I end up gaining this time around means nothing though. I have weight from the last 2 pregnancies to lose still. This time I am going to get serious. Being as Blaine is probably our last baby, there is no excuse not to bust my ass and get into shape. Logan has between 4-5 days off at a time. He can watch the kids during those days so I can go to the gym for 45 minutes or so. He can and he WILL watch them :D

My SIL just passed her 25 lb weight loss goal and I couldnt be more happy for her. She has done so well, even when there were probably people who thought she couldnt do it. (people can be so cruel) She is doing amazing both at the gym and at home with eating good. For sure an inspiration. Way to go, Janessa!

Oh other notes... Im pretty sure the Moms group is going to be a flop. So far no one has joined the meet up group site. Only one of the tare off things on the flyer at the post office has been taken off. Of the moms I know and went to school with, I do not see any of them committing to a group. Its not like Im demanding that they go to every meet up or anything, Id just like them to sign up and give some input for when dates/times would work for them to hang out and maybe give out other ideas of things to do. I dont see this happening though, its going to fall through and Im going to be out $24... I could send out emails to join to the ladies I know of, but dont want to be pushy or anything. Oh well, I tried I guess. At the end of the month if there are no members, the group page will be closed because I wont pay for it if its not working.

We did go to the park this morning. I let the kids play for an hour. Guess maybe in a hope that someone from FB would show up... No one did. One younger mom who went to pick her kids up form the day care, waved as she walked back by. Her kids were around mine's ages. In fact, I think Ive seen her at the Post office before. I of course waved back. Wish I had better people skills.

After the park we went to the Post office to check mail and see how many of the things were taken off the flyer. There was another young mom there with her little girl. Just wish I could just start talking to people with no problems... Like my mom.. My mom could talk to any one, whether she knows them or not. She finds something to talk about.. Not me.. Im verbally challenged and have no clue what to talk about.  Oh well, maybe someday.

Came home, kids had popcicles and I had ice cream and they went down for naps. I should have napped too but instead I caught up on my soaps.. On my last episode now and then I need to clean the kitchen and fold some laundry. And of course, look to see what to do for dinner tonight.. My least favorite thing..

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Many plans and more!

I have so many plans going through my head!!! Its going to explode. I wish we had more money.. Course it's not just my plans that take money. Logan has plans too and has to work over time just to complete them because I spend to much money.. Boooo!

I have paint colors picked out! I still need to decide how to do the boy's room. There isnt going to be much visible wall from the floor to half way up. Two cribs and an changing table take up a lot of wall space in a small room.

Here's the colors I've picked:

Garden Spot (green)
Horizon Haze (blue)
Applesauce Cake (brown, yes both are the same)

For Ellie's room, I've picked these colors and want to do a wall with stripes. I love the stripe walls! Im trying to decide if I want to do the full wall that the bed is against now or the smaller wall that is broke up with the door on it. Probably the larger wall. I also want to repaint the headboard of her bed. Its from like the 60's and isnt very girly. ALSO want a new/different dresser for her room too. I want to go check out the 2nd hand place in town one of these days.

Here are the colors for her room:
Spearmint Stick (green)
Violet Mist (purple)
Wickerware (yellow)
Hopeful (pink)

I also want to use this blue in my bathroom and do a sea/beach theme in there. That was the theme my mom did in our house when I was in H.S. (Same bathroom just different house..lol) Beachy themes fit bathrooms so easily.

This color for the bathroom:
Fountain Spout (blue)

All the colors look a little different on the cards, of course...

Down the road I would also love love love to paint the living room and kitchen. No colors picked out for those rooms yet. Course I dont know. Everyone keeps asking if we are going to apply for a 4 bedroom house or not (company owned housing, kinda like living on a military base) There is one just two houses down from us that they are totally gutting and redoing. We just REALLY dont want to pack up and move again, even if it is 2 houses down the road. However I suppose I should REALLY talk to Logan about painting and the possibilities of moving before I paint because if there is a even the smallest chance that he's want to put in for a 4 bedroom, I will not paint at all.  Im not seeing it happening though because of all the work he has put into the grass, the gates, the garage, now he is putting an swamp cooler on the garage and running the water pipes to it.. Just dont see him wanting to move after all that work.

So I've decided to take on a big task. I am trying to make a moms group here in town. I have a website (cost money), Ive sent PM's to friends on Facebook and had a few say that its a really great idea and even put a flyer up at the Post Office with all the info and website address. The site is private so you have to join to see any meet ups planned, so far no one has joined. I REALLY hope this takes off.. I hate doing social things but NEED this! Other then my SIL, I have no friends. (Ok, I have a couple out of towners but that does no good in town) There isnt a whole lot we can do here in our little town besides the park, pool, and go to each other's houses. I'd like to also set up a moms night out (WITHOUT the kids), maybe a scrapbook time where we get a room at the community center, a possibly even trips to Prescott to the Discovery Kids thing at the mall.  A friend also wants to start up a Bunco night. So it would be VERY cool if this takes off but so far I've had no serious hits... Tomorrow is a park play group and Im going to post it on my FB and maybe someone else will show up.. If I dont have anyone join by the end of the month though, I probably wont renew the web site I made.. So hopefully it kicks off!

Hope everyone is having (or had) a good week so far! Tomorrow is Friday and for the majority of the world mean, one last day of work. For me, it means Logan goes back to work tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good Friday whether at work or enjoying the weekend already!

River Fun

Today we went to the river with some friends and their 2 sons. It was the perfect day to go. Not to hot, not to windy, the bugs werent horrible and the water was the perfect temp. Oh and no one else was out there. That is always a plus. I think we will try to go out there a couple more times because pretty soon the water will be all dried up. The crappy part about living in Arizona.

This kids all had a blast and so did the daddies.

 Jamie, Ellie & DJ

Gracie, DJ, Ellie, Logan & Brandon

 Garrett enjoying his 2nd hotdog
 Swimming with Daddy
 Ellie likes to fly

 The rock
The dads laying on the rock like a couple of lizards
More time swimming with Daddy. Our water babies love it!

Like my last post, there was not a dull moment out there. Garrett was walking on the sand and started to cry. At first I didnt think much of it but head over to get him. But he kept crying more and then I remembered..... There were bees down on that side of the sand. I scooped him up and rinsed the sand of his feet. The stinger was still hanging on, so I pulled it out. Poor baby boy did not like that at all! Kristen, the other boys' mother asked if he is allergic, I kinda laughed and said "We will find out." Thank God it doesnt appear that he is allergic to bees. His foot did turn red in the area and actually had a weird white line from the sting point up the side of his foot. The red and white both went away though.

The kids had so much and because neither had naps before we went out there, they were both passed out in their car seats before we even left the swimming hole.. Poor kiddos.

Garrett went to bed an hour early! Hope he stays asleep tonight. Ellie finally crashed. I hope I actually get some sleep tonight.  I've reached the point in pregnancy where I cannot get comfortable, my gut is soar and I just cant sleep. The fun stuff! Just getting ready to have a new baby.

p.s. Tomorrow is the day Garrett will get his stitches out, hopefully.

Dull Moments

There are never dull moments when you have children. There is always something going on, whether it is a good thing, scary thing, happy thing or sad thing. Always something!

Last Thursday Garrett made my morning interesting. I had already wrote this post up but it got deleted, so Im taking that as my que to make it shorter! lol

So long story short, he busted his head open on our gate out side. He seriously only cried for like 2 seconds and it wasnt a horrible cry either. I wasnt worried at all. Went out side to see what was up and he had blood running down his forehead. I got dressed and loaded Ellie & Garrett up in the car and rushed to the clinic.

They cleaned him up and have him 4 stitches. Everyone asks if he cried when they did the stitches and I say yes, but seriously I dont think it was because of the stitches but because the nurses wrapped him in a sheet to hold him down. He was pissed about that. I would be too! lol

Here's the pictures from the day.

When it happened
During Stitches
 All better

We go back Wednesday to have them hopefully remove the stitches. That is if it does not get busted open again. Ellie kicked him on Saturday while playing and made it bleed. So here's hoping Tuesday goes by with no more blood! lol

Bad Parent (self) Review/ Dont Judge Me

As a mother you never want someone to say you are a bad parent. I would beat the person who told me I was a bad mom into the ground. I do not think I am a bad parent at all. I also rarely say So&So is a bad parent. (Aside from my neighbors who had 2 children under the age of 3 sleep in ONE play pen, TOGETHER)

Anyways, there does come a day when most avarage mother thinks she is a bad mother. (I know this because I hear it from my mommy groups a lot) Today was my day. Ellie was being a monster and when she gets mad, man her attitude is horrible. She starts throwing things. She wanted chocolate juice (milk) but Im trying to limit that down to bedtime and early mornings. (Milk and chocolate syrup just dont last long in this house)

After she threw the cup, her corndog and blanket, I went to her room and have her a little pop on her leg. Like a warning spanking, not hard at all. Just to get her attention and tell her that she does not throw her food, cup, etc. Not 5 seconds after I handed her the cup, corndog and blanket back and left her room did I hear her launch the cup across the room again. I went in there once more, popped her butt and repeated the process as before. This time she was throwing the biggest fit and just being horrible. I tried to sit her down on her chair for a time out and she was yelling, screaming and acting like a teenage (Ahhhhhh!). I just left the room. No sooner after I sit ont he couch again do I here her throw her table over. (little princess table with chairs) Went into her room, I popped her once more on the butt, took her to the living room and sat her on the floor by the couch. I got the timer out and told her to stay there. After cleaning up the mess that was now her room I went to enforce time out. Once it was done I sat her on the couch and explained to her that she does not throw things (such as the sippy cup, food, etc) After I got her to calm down some and lay down on the couch I see her leg (upper area) where I had spanked her. It was welted up and splotchy red. Honestly it looked like a hicky in a weird shape (the shape of a hard almost) I was mortified when I saw this. Absolutly, down right ashamed that I had spanked my little girl (obviously) hard enough to make it bruise. I swear I didnt spank her that hard. It may have been because my hand was flat and not cupped when I spanked her the last time. (since it was the plam that left the mark) My stomach still turns and heart hurts when I see it or even as Im typing this and thinking about it. How could I leave a mark like that on my baby's body??

Obviously, I am not against spanking, its just something I havent had to do much. Its more of a threat than an action. After this happening its almost enough to make me NOT spank anymore. (Probably not likely though)

I didnt show Logan and still havent told him about it. I dont think he would freak out, get mad or even  really say anything against me but that is just how ashamed I am of what I did. I've kept her in shorts, tutu, anything that is long and covers her butt cheak. I just hope the mark clears up and is gone soon.

After I got her to calm down, I sat there and kissing her head and telling her I love her, over and over and still do not feel like I have said it enough. Gah, Im a horrible mom..

I did learn something from all of this. Ellie has sensitive skin. No but really, I dont need to spank like that. Even though I didnt do that on purpose, it still happened.

So with a deep breath, Im going to end this review of my self, thank God that it was nothing worse, and that he granted me the abitlity to control myself and not spank her harder or more then I did.

On to other news, Garrett fell in the bathroom the other day (Saturday) and busted his mouth open. I thought he his his forehead on the tub but it ended up being his mouth. (Yes, I was there when he did it, I saw it happened. I wasnt MIA in another room) I took him out of the tub, wrapped in him towels and held him close to me. Then I noticed the blood in his mouth. He had a gash on his lip and his upper lip was busted at that little piece of skin that attaches the lip to gums. His teeth were blood and I felt like a new mom who had never delt with that before. I didnt know what to do. The local clinic was closed (I'd have to call for an on call to meet me there, long story) I didnt think it was that bad. Thank God again that it stopped bleeding. He is find today, just a couple swollen and sensitve lips. It hasnt slowed him down at all.

With all that said and the CPS call have been made (by my followers) I am going to cook dinner. Hope everyone has a nice week.

Name Picking

This business of naming a baby is hard work!

We are having an incredibly hard time picking a name this time. Not that we talk about it often. Logan wants his Gpa's name Vernon some place in the name. He also likes Blaine. I like Blaine and its not very common but Im having a hard time deciding if that is what I want to call my son... Plus Blaine Vernon doesnt sound good to me. Veron Blaine doesnt sound to bad, but Logan doesnt want him to be called Vernon (which wouldnt be a problem often if we called him Blaine from day one and everyone else does too). We also have to come up  with a 3rd name to go along with those two, because, well we named both the other kids with 1 first name, 2 middle names and the last name= 4 names.

It was so easy naming Ellie & Garrett. Why is it so hard this time around?? I am looking at names on line and like Beau (Bo) but his cousin is named Bo and dont think we really want to name our son after him or not.

Hmmmmmmm.... Gage Vernon?

Times like this make me wish it was a girl. I had the perfect girl name picked out!! :*( Dont get me wrong here, I am thrilled and happy that we are having a boy C:

Well this has reminded me that I still need to get the ultrasound pics copied and put on line. That will be on my to-do list for the night...

AAAAAAAAAHHHHH! I hate Logan's laptop!! It highlights and deletes everything while I am typing!!! Grrrrr its happened 2 times now! So this post will just be pictures because Im tired of redoing everything. The pictures are from today. My beautiful babies! Also the 4 scrap pages I got done while Nessa was here.

Mommy's little princess putting on finishing touches

Ta-da all done!

Sometimes its so hard to get a good picture of Garrett, he is always on the move. I think this one is cute though.

Just like Daddy, he loves trucks too!

Can you feel the love? <3

Raindrops keep falling on my head

Day one to self improvement & another card

Well today I did indeed get up and after being up a bit I did get myself dressed and fixed my hair. Nothing special, just a slicked pony tail. I also put on some eye shadow. It does make me feel better when I actually put effort forward to getting my self dressed every day. I didnt do anything different today though, still sat on the couch, watching TV and on the computer.

Speaking of my laptop... I do believe the charger took a crap today. Garrett pulled it out once and put it in his mouth. This isnt the first time this has ever happened. Infact, Im sure Ellie did it a time or two when she was younger too. Well when I went to plug it back in, some time later, it made this like bussy kind of sound and my battery charge light never came on. :( I wiggled it and kept trying and nothing. Hopefully it is just the charger and not the plug in port in the laptop, because the charger is a lot cheaper to replace then a lap top. So for now, Im on Logan's computer.. Boooo. I do not like his laptop. It sucks to say the least. (Not really, just different than mine)

I didnt end up doing any scrapbooking today however, I did get another card done. Yeey. Its like a card a day challenge or something. This one's a bday card for a friend.

Front-
Paper used from DCWV "The Sweet Stack" Cupcake make using Cricut cart "Doodlecharms" size 3. Mounted on pop squares.

Inside-
The stamp used was once again from the $1.00 box at JoAnn's. I do not know what brand they all are, but am going to try and find out tomrrow. I used my Fiskars corner rounder to round both the mats corners and the cards corners.

I still have several birthday cards to do. Hopefully Ill get them all done and out in the mail.

Tomorrow I do not have any plans to speak of. Of course Ill be getting up, getting dressed and maybe Ill take pictures of the kids. Ill also at some point probably make another card. Tonight is Logan's last night at work and he thinks he is going to Prescott tomorrow to go work on our house there. (mow yard, fix door knob, etc) Collect rent money! Oh!! Guess that means Nessa can come over and scrapbook if he isnt going to be underfoot! So maybe Ill be scrapping tomorrow. We shall see.

Hope everyone has a great FRIDAY!!

Three Steps To A Better Me

Upon reading some blogs I follow, I came across one titled "8 weeks to a better me- week 5" Well I cant find what weeks 1-4 were about, but did like what week 5 had to say and thought I really should try it. Any self improvement will do me and my family some good.

These are the 3 steps from week 5:

1. look for beauty in everything & document it: In life we take a lot of things for granted. Whether its your healthy children, having babies, having a pet, a place to live, a job, a loving husband, a fabulous family, great friends, being able to see and hear, what ever the topics, most everyone in the world take these simple things for granted. I admit I am one of those people who take every single one of those things listed above for granted. I couldnt imagine living my life with out even one of those things. So I am going to look for the beauty in the things I take for granted (not hard to do!) and take many pictures of them. (post them another day) Take pictures of everything! You never know when that something/someone will no longer be in your life. See as much as you can with your eyes and hear as many things as you can with your ears, because you never know when these two luxuries will be gone.

2. dress for yourself, and do it each day! This is something I REALLY need to do. I know I feel so much better on the days when I get up and get dressed, fix my hair, put on some make up and jewelry. I really do need to take a moment out of everyday to pamper myself. So starting tomorrow I am going to make myself get up and do a little self pampering. (pictures to come)

3. never speak negatively about your significant other...  I do find myself saying negative things about Logan on occasions. Nothing near as some other women that I know and talk to. Hahaha!  I almost started talking negative about him in this post. Geez! See I do take many many things for granted, including my husband!

So that is that. I am going to work on those 3 goals anf hopefully start something new and better my self each day that passes. I may even come up  with new goals to work towards in the future. Everyone should have goals, right? Well now is a great time to have some for my self.

Gender Disappointmet??

So did I end up having gender disappointment today?? Let me start out by saying I really really wanted to have a girl. I was so excited to go through all of DD's cute little girl clothes.

We got to the anatomy scan today and while the tech was doing her job of measuring all the body parts and checking for anything that mite be wrong I thought I saw the magic 3 lines. I smiled and said "I saw what it is!" and my mom and every one there was like "What? What is it?" I didnt tell them and just said "She will tell you" motioning to the tech. The tech had a very hard time getting any goods shots at all. Baby was being very closed legs about the whole thing. FINALLY baby decided to open up and to my disappointment it is clearly a boy. I was pretty quiet about it through the ultra sound. Some one asked if that was what I wanted and I replied "Does it really matter?" I mean because its not like I have a choice. I had to go pee in the cup after the u/s and while in the bathroom I had to fight back not crying. Even though I still really wanted a girl, I am completely happy with having another boy and of course love him every bit as much as any of my other kids and cannot wait to go through DS's cute little boy out fits. I even bought one outfit today that is so cute. So I only had mild disappointment.

With all that out of the way, the OB said baby is measuring right on for 20.5 weeks which he said hard every happens. That everything looks great. He still isnt very active but now I understand why.... He is another lazy little boy.. my DS was the same way, hardly a womb mover.

We do not have a name fully picked out yet but have 2 names picked out (We give the kids 3 names total) So we need to pick a 3rd name and the order they will go in. Ill of course post once we get settled on a name!

So here's another one for TEAM BLUE

Hope everyone had a great Tuesday and a wonderful Hump day!

p.s. Ultra sound pics to come in next up date!
