Monday Weigh In

Well, this morning I weigh in at 209 (I did already eat a bowl of Fruit Loops). That is a 3 lbs loss from the first of December. I did not reach my goal of 10 lbs. I did not try hard enough and I gave up  stopped working out before our Christmas week started.   I also didnt reach my goal outfit for Christmas :( I didnt get to wear that sparkley shirt and I am still not in my size 17 jeans. :( Pretty bummed, but January is a new month and the start of a new year.

I think it really sucks how hard it is to lose 5 lbs but in the blink of an eye you can gain it all back.

My January goal- Lose 5-10 lbs. I decided that 15 lbs was a little high and probably out of my reach. Least to start out with. I was close to 5 lbs last month. So of course Id still like to lose around 10 lbs but dont want to set the goal to high this month.

No goal outfit, though for my b-day I'd really like to be able to wear something cute for when Logan and I are in PHX for the night before he flies out. Not sure where we are going to eat yet but I have an idea he has something planned ;) .

I did pretty good at not drinking soda last month. There were times I did, but never at home. So this months goal is again, no soda, with the exception of occasionally when I go to Prescott to grocery shop and eat lunch. Depending on where I go, I get ice tea usually. Its when I go to Subway that I get a soda. Last time I got a smaller cup and didnt refill it.

As far as booze went last month, I didnt even have any at Christmas time. I did have 2 shots of Sake. LOL! I bought some from World Market because I've always wanted to try it. Needless to say, I wont be doing that again! Not that good. Booo. This month, I plan to stay booze free except for my B-day, when we go out eat and maybe back at the hotel. ;)

My workout plan is still going to consist of the eliptical, the Bikini Fit in 4 weeks plan, and the ab work outs from Pinterest (15 minute abs)

What are your plans for January to get fit and be healthy?

Christmas Pt 2

Around noon on Christmas Eve Ellie started throwing up. She crashed out on the couch till about 5 and threw up a few times in between. Poor kid! Around 5:30 she was up and seemed completely fine. We had talked about going to see Christmas lights around town. I suggested going to PV to see the Valley of Lights. Thats about a 1.5 hour drive away. We were worried about Ellie being sick still but she seemed fine. So we got the kids dressed and loaded up. The kids really did enjoy the lights and telling us what they all were.

Does poor Blainer look like he doesnt feel well?
 Santa catching a big fish
 I <3 Daddy!

After we were done with the Lights, Blaine started throwing up. He threw up off and on the whole way home. Once we got home and got everyone bathed and into bed, everyone was good. I had Ellie write a letter to Santa before she went to bed. She insisted on sleeping on the couch and since she wasnt feeling good, I let her.
Santa came, ate his cookies and left the kids their presents and filled the stockings.
Christmas morning one by one the kids woke up. Ellie & Garrett checked out the goods while waiting for Blaine
Again the kids received loads of good gifts. Garrett got an awesome Lightning McQueen, clothes, cars, an InnoTab2 and more. Ellie got a cute Dora Fairy, clothes, an InnoTab2 and more. Blaine got some cool balls, cars, clothes and more.

Thankfully both Ellie & Blaine were feeling better on Christmas and we didnt have anymore problems from them! We thought we were out of the woods.......

Hope everyone had a wonderful and magical Christmas!

Christmas Pt 1

The Thursday before Christmas Garrett started throwing up. He did it for about 3 hours. The next day he seemed completely fine. On Saturday he threw up a little bit but seemed completely fine. We went to the In-laws house to have Christmas with Logan's side of the family. When we got to their house (less then a mile away) all Garrett wanted to do was sleep. So we let him nap. After a while one of the cousins woke him up, shortly after he threw up. It smelled just like yeast. We got him cleaned up and layed him back down for a while. We he then woke up and we tried to open presents. Garrett was so out of it that he layed over on his present and went back to sleep. :(
We went a head and put Garrett back to bed and let the other kids open their presents.
Ellie was so funny with all her expressions and Oh my goshes!
Blaine was totally into pulling the wrapping off
Nana went to check on Garrett and he was sleeping but she said it smelled like poop. We went in to check on him and he has diarrhea and it ran out of his pants! Logan got him all cleaned up and bathed. Afterwards he was wide awake and in a much better mood. So he got to open his presents.
After a while Garrett started to stink again. Logan put him in the bath tub and his diaper was loaded with green "water" Poor guy! Logan got him cleaned up again and decided to go buy some gatoraid to keep him hydrated with.

The kids got a lot of great presents from their Nana S & Papa T and their Aunt C and Uncle C & cousin.

Their favorites:
Ellie got a Lala Loopsy silly hair doll
Garrett got a Thomas the Train set with tracks
Blaine some stacking blocks

Logan's parents got us a certificate to ride the Verde Valley Railroad (awesome!) and a gift card for dinner at a nice place. I really want to go now but it will be so much funner in the Spring or Summer time.

After we got home that night, Garrett threw up a little more but went to bed. We gave him a lot of Gatoriad the next few days. He was better on Sunday and had no more problems! Thank goodness!

Thank you to my in laws for all the great things they got our kids and us!

Winter Fun

Its been to long since Ive updates on the kids. Ellie's school had a little Christmas program. She was a sheep. The Pre-schoolers didnt do anything but walk from the back of the room to the stage. Actually, the sheep crawled on hands and knees to the front! A long way for a 4 yr old to crawl. lol She had a blast though!

After the program, Santa stopped into see the kids. It was a long wait, but worth it of course. Even Blaine did a good job and enjoyed a candy cane on the way home.
Around the first part of December we got snow! Burr! Way more then Im used to since we moved a little more up into the hills.

So that was our first snow! It lasted about 2 days. So far no more since then. Who knows, that could be all we get this Winter. I may be ok with that too. :)

Im going down!

Alright,  I know when working out and losing weight, you are supposed to only weigh in once a week. No scale hopping every day. Well I jumped on today. Couldnt resist. Im down to 208!! I am trying not to get to excited because I still have 4 days till my official weigh in day (Monday). But looking at the 208, I am down 4 lbs!  Im going to toot my own horn now! Toot Toot! lol

So one of my biggest problems is sticking to a routine. I made that work out schedule and surprise surprise, I havent done any of the said workouts I put on it. However, yesterday I did stay a new program. Its a book and its called Bikini Fit in 4 weeks. I've had it for years. Literally since like 2005 or 06. I've never really dont anything with it though. Now, Im on day two of week one. I am feeling it already in my belly muscles and love handle muscles!! I am also still doing time on the elliptical and also today started the 4 moves to strong abs without doing crunches.  I think the mix of these 3 things and eating better will help me stay on track better this time!

On top of my goal of 10 lbs by the end of December, I have a new goal to work towards! Logan has a class for work in Knoxville in January. He flies out the day before my birthday. He booked a hotel room for the night before he flies out so we can stay together, kid free and go to dinner or whatever. At first I was thinking it would be totally fun to wear a sexy dress for him, but Burrr! Even in Phoenix its cold in January. So Ill just find a sexy top, hopefully a part  of my size 17 jeans and maybe some cute new shoes! I totally want to be hot for him (and me too of course!)

Also, Logan was telling me he has another class in March  in Vegas! Woot! I'd love to be able to go with him, even if during the day I'll be by my self while he is in class. I could lounge around the pool in maybe a cute suit, have some drinks and just relax (kid free of course!) Thats to far in the future though, but hopefully! :D

Alright, hope everyone is having a great week!

.............Friends..................

I know I ramble on a lot about this topic. The lack of friends. How do I make friends. etc.... Today when I picked Ellie went to pick Ellie up from Pre-k there were 2 other mom's sitter there waiting for their children to finish eating lunch. They both smiled at me as I stood near by and received Ellie's hugs and directed her back to the table. One of them even said Hi and I returned it to her. That was all.... Nothing more.. They looked to be about the same age as me or maybe a little older. I am not one of those over zealous, outgoing, happy people. I have a hard time when it comes to meeting people and carrying on a conversation. All I want is a warm welcome from these people, "Hey, ar eyou new here? Havent seen you before." , "Oh your daughter is in my son/daughter's class. Do you live around here?" or even a simple "Hi. My name is ---." I know, I know... Why cant I just introduce myself to them.. I dont know.. I just have a hard time.. Im hoping maybe as Summer rolls around, the church at the end of the road will have a VBS and Ellie will be able to go to that. And maybe, just maybe, Ill meet some moms there and actually click with them. After all, that is how I ended up involved with my old MOPS group, through VBS... I guess I just need to step up and be friendly too.. Why cant it be more easy for me!?

Something to work towards

We all set number goals. Whether its pounds lost, ending weight, in inches lost, or other ways. Some people set a goal of jean sizes. I thought this would be a good idea. I've read that they try on the pants every so often to see how much closer the are getting to that goal.

I've decided to take pictures in my goal shirt. I bought this shirt a few months back from Wal-mart. Thought it was super cute. Of course its from the junior section and its the biggest size but my pooch still shows. I also have some size 17 jeans I'd like to be able to wear, but also have a pair of 18s that could fit better too.

My determination is high but my motivation is low. Ha! I just got to make my self keep pushing though. I have to keep my eye on the prize.

What prize? You may be asking. Ok, let me break it down for you. Not only do I want to wear that outfit to Christmas and be able to wear size 17 jeans, but here are some other things I'd like to add to my goal.

1. My thighs dont touch! I cannot imagine what it would be like to walk and my legs and pants not go "swoosh, swoosh, swoosh" as they rubbed together. I'd also like not to ware the insides on my size 17 jeans out from my legs rubbing together.

 2. Ok, there really is no #2. Right now my goals are to lose 10-15 lbs this month, to wear that shirt and those damn size 17 jeans to Christmas and to hopefully make a dent in my legs rubbing together! I know that last part will take longer then just a month.

Today, I weighed in. I am now at 210. That is a 2 lb loss. Yeey! This weekend I weighed 209 but after eating chicken wings one night and pizza at a b-day the next day, its no surprise Im back up to 210.

So this week I need to really focus on portion control, which may be hard because I have some really yummy dinners planned and actually working out! I must get this done!!!

Best Things

You know what the best thing about having your own fitness equipment at home is?

 1. You dont have to worry about your clothes matching, fitting or if your gut is hanging out.

 2. Of course your hair is no issue either.

 3. You dont have to worry that people are judging you or you dont get to judge the skinny bitch down the         way.

4. When you have only been on the machine for 10 minutes and you can go no longer, you dont have to              worry what people are thinking of you because you just quite after 10 minutes.

Ok so maybe some of those are good things (#4) but hey, its my home :) my gym, baby. Ill call my shots.

So, my start weight was 212 lbs and this morning I weighted in at 211. I think Mondays will be my weigh-in days. Maybe that will hold me accountable over the weekends. Cant pig out on the weekend and expect the numbers to be low on Monday.

I have cut soda from lifestyle. Im saying at least till Christmas or New Years, but we will see. Heck, if I go that long, mise well keep up on it and no give in. Though it could be hard at the holidays when everyone else is having a drink or 10. If I do give in, it will be a Sprite Zero or something similar. Thats in the future though. For now, no soda! I am drinking Crystal Light water and maybe tea on the occasions we go out to eat.

Last night we had New York Strip steaks for dinner with salads. A piece of the steak I put in my mouth had a big chunk of fat. Usually, Ill eat the fat. (smaller pieces of it) Tonight, I pulled it out and didnt eat it. I thought to my self, "self, Im trying to lose fat and here I might ingest a big chunk of it? Doesnt make sense. Take it out NOW!" So I did. I need to be more picky about what I eat.

Sunday I tried to do a glutes workout on my elliptical and it killed my thighs, on the tops. I could only do tem minutes. Well yesterday when I got on to do Day 1 Week 1 of the C25K, I realized some Jack-hole left it with the ramp all the way up after he was done playing with it. (Dont worry, I used those same words and names when I addressed the issue with the said Jack-hole!) However, I still could only do 10 minutes of the C25K. My legs didnt hurt, I was just out of breath so bad. I know I should have kept pushing through, but I also think I need to work back up. After all, I havent worked out since end of August-beginning of September-ish. So Im going to work in the C25K in my schedule, doing it only 3 days a week. Also, I am going to try and start the 30 Day Shred again. This time, I am not going to do it 30 days in a row. I know my schedule says I am going to only do it once a week, but I think Im going to push more for every other day or at least 3 days a week. It will take longer and who knows, once I get passed the pain, I may step it up to more days a week.

Tonight was supposed to be my first morning getting up at 6 to workout. Didnt happen. Im so not a morning person. Instead, I laid there in bed until 9. I did eventually do my 10 minute (cry) "workout" around noon, after I got the small fry down for his nap. I know I'd feel so much better if I did it in the mornings though. Tomorrow Ellie has school and we have to be up at 6. After I drop her off at the bus (@7) providing everyone is still sleeping when I get back, Ill bust out my workout.

When do you find the time to work out? Do you feel that is the best time for you or just the most convenient?
