Family Day

Let me start by saying, what a long day! I mean loooooooooooong!!! But we had a great time..

We had been planning to take Ellie & Garrett to their first hockey game for about 2 weeks. That day was the 16th. We woke up that morning and Logan had a wild hair (in a good way) to take the kids to the Zoo first. We didnt tell the kids of our secret plans. We got ready that morning and had left by 11. Dropped Blaine off at Nana's house because we figured he wouldnt sit well during the hockey game. That game wasnt until 7 pm..

We get into Prescott and head to the Zoo first. We unloaded and still didnt tell them where we were until we were through the entrance. They were both pretty excited, specially Ellie because she has been wanting to go forever!
The kids loved the reptile room. There were all kinds of snakes and lizards. They were not scared in the least bit. We went into a spider room which had tanks with tranchulas and Ellie lost her little mind! She did not want to be in there. There was one of those big fake Halloween spiders on the ceiling and when she saw it she all but cried "What is that?!" They enjoyed seeing all the other animals. This zoo is a rescue zoo and most of the animals are desert animals (other then the tiger, obviously...lol) The animals must have been hot because they werent very active and it was only in the 70s.. Booo. Back at the front of the Zoo they were showing the python and letting the kids touch it.. Garrett had no hesitation and run right up to pet it.. He even almost fell on it.. Ellie clang to Logan's leg.. I finally convinced her to go pet it but it was to late, they were taking it to put it away. We let them play at the little park there for a while. Ellie fell and skinned her elbow and she was pretty up set about that for a while. Last was getting to see them feel the Tiger.

After the Zoo, everyone was hungry so we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings. Everyone ate pretty good there.  Yum!! Love wings. Logan & I could probably live off wings (and ribs and steaks and you know everything bad for you...) The margaritas were good too ;)

After lunch we went to Walmart. The kids had on green shirts for St. Patty's day and Logan & I wanted to get green shirts too. Ellie asked to go to the toys to push buttons.. Stupidly I said OK.. We went over and Garrett found toys he wanted.. We told him no.. We werent buying toys just looking.. He lost his mind. He through a fit for like an hour. By this time it was only around 4, so we still had 3 hours before the game... Aaahhhh!! I suggested we go to Fain Park to let the kids get out, run off some of the energy/attitude.

Both Ellie & Garrett had fun throwing rocks in the lake and checking out the old Mining equipment they have on display there.

We decided it was time to head over to the Tims Toyota Center (where the game was) but we were to early to get our tickets. Whomp!! A guy was trying to sell his old Military truck so we drug the kids over to check it out and kill some time... But it wasnt enough time.. Walked back and we still couldnt get our tickets until almost 6 and we had to stand outside in the wind waiting.. Ugh!! I had a headache by the time we got inside. Finally it was time!!

At first Ellie was really scared of all the noise. I even told her before we got there that it was going to be VERY loud.. Loud noise has always scared her. I was finally able to get her to relax and even whoop and holler with us. About 10 minutes before the game was over slowly both kids couldnt take it any longer and fell asleep. We decided to leave at that time. (The Arizona Sundogs did lose 4-3...booo)

We got home that night pretty late. Picked Blaine up and got home and everyone into bed. What a long day!! We had a good time, other then the melt downs. Cannot wait till our next family day.
